BragBet Refunds Bets After World Cup Farce

February 15, 2015 By World Cup Dave

brazil croatia controversy corruption penaltyAmidst the controversy of the first game of the cup between Brazil and Croatia, BragBet.com, a social betting website, has taken an extraordinary step and announced their decision that none of their customers should lose out following the poor decisions in tonight’s opening match.

As a result, Bragbet will be paying out on all bets placed on Croatia to win after the scandalous events in Sao Paolo in the opening game of World Cup 2014.

Claims that Corruption is rife again in Blatter’s FIFA

Brazil may be the main proponents of the beautiful game for the past half century, but last night they were part of their own home game. A game which showed the world all that is wrong with football and FIFA as it stands.

Home town decisions from the referee were abundant with undeserving penalties awarded, great goals disallowed and actual penalties not given.

A BragBet representative said,

“BragBet was founded and made up of true football fans and what happened in the World Cup opening game between Brazil and Croatia is scandalous. We feel that Croatia were robbed due to poor decisions and as such we’re paying out on all winners and giving all other bets back to go again.”

“We, like every other football fan around the world, have been looking forward to this for 4 years. We hope that this is not indicative of the competition ahead”.

It was a cruel result for a battling Croatia side that exposed Brazil’s failings early and often, and blame will fall on referee Yuichi Nishimura, who awarded a late penalty for a phantom foul on striker Fred that replays showed was a badly blown call.

”If that was a penalty, we should be playing basketball,” said Croatia coach Niko Kovac. ”Those kinds of fouls are penalized there.”

”That is shameful, this is not a World Cup referee. He had one kind of criteria for them and another for us. The rules were not the same,” said Kovac.

Fansided were not impressed either with Adam Golembiewski stating,

“Normally, I give a player the “UGH Award” for being the unsung game hero, somebody who displayed guts and passion in his team’s effort.

However, for this match, this is going to a player who made me go “ugh” with his disgusting lack of class, Fred. A player of the home nation, in their first game, with the world watching, made a completely gutless move that ended up making a mockery of what was a great match.

This is the reason why American sports fans have such a hard time trying to get into the sport; embarrassments such as Fred turn casual viewers off because they make soccer players as a whole look like spoiled, weak, feeble prima donnas, trying to buy any kind of call they can by flip-flopping all over the pitch.

It was a black eye on the opening match of what is sure to be a great tournament, and FIFA should hopefully be cracking down more on referees after this shameful display.”
